Three-Lane Walton Road Carriageway Now Open for Traffic
Lahore: Central Business District Punjab (CBD Punjab) has successfully delivered on yet another commitment by making the three-lane carriageway of Walton Road fully functional. This development comes in line with the directives of Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, marking a major step toward resolving long-standing issues of traffic congestion and infrastructure deterioration on this vital roadway.
CBD Punjab has done asphalt work for the three-lane carriageway, covering the stretch from Qainchi to Defence Morr. The carriageway is now operational for traffic, ensuring smoother transit for thousands of commuters who depend on this crucial route for their daily travel. By addressing the long-persistent traffic bottlenecks and sewage problems that have plagued Walton Road, CBD Punjab has significantly improved the road’s functionality.
In addition to this achievement, CBD Punjab has initiated the asphalt work on Major Muhammad Ishaq Shaheed Flyover, further enhancing the region’s infrastructure. The authority has already successfully diverted the ADA Nullah, eliminating a key obstruction that hindered progress and contributed to the area’s chronic flooding and sanitation issues.
CEO CBD Punjab, Imran Amin, praised the project’s progress, stating, *”We are committed to improving the infrastructure of Lahore and delivering on our promises in a timely manner. The completion of the Walton Road carriageway is a testament to our team’s dedication and the trust placed in us by the people of Punjab. We are confident that the remaining work on this project will be completed on schedule, providing long-term solutions to the traffic and infrastructure challenges of this area.”
CBD Punjab’s efforts are part of a broader initiative to modernize Lahore’s infrastructure, focusing on long-term urban planning and sustainable development. By executing these projects efficiently, CBD Punjab is not only enhancing the quality of life for the city’s residents but also contributing to the economic growth of the province by easing transport and promoting better connectivity.
