Indian pacer Mohammed Shami has finally settled the rumors about his alleged marriage to renowned tennis star Sania Mirza.
The cricketer expressed his dismay at the fake news and urged people to be responsible on social media.
Rumors that surfaced a month ago claimed that the sports celebrities were planning to tie the knot on August 20, 2024. The claims were promoted by several Indian websites including Masala, Times Now and Zoom, accompanied by photos of Shami and Mirza.
Imran Mirza, Sania’s father, denied these rumors back in June. “This is all bullshit.
After about a month, Shami broke his silence and found it strange to see a picture of him with someone he had never met. In response to a question about the rumours, he commented: “I believe memes are meant for entertainment, but if it involves someone’s life, then one should create memes with great care. People share such messages from unverified sites and away.”
Speaking to a YouTuber, the fast bowler described the situation as weird and deliberate for some “lame fun”.
He further added: “It is very easy to pull someone’s leg. First, work hard, you will achieve success, raise your level and help someone, only then will I believe that you are a good person.”
