The Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) led Punjab government has warned citizens for traffic violations as they will henceforth receive challan with proof and heavy fine with the help of artificial intelligence.
Artificial intelligence and modern electronic traffic police have been introduced in Punjab and the process of checking every smog vehicle with modern cameras has started.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed transport authorities to catch vehicles emitting “excessive smoke” and issue challans to them through state-of-the-art Punjab Safe City Cameras in Lahore.
Artificial intelligence technology is used to detect the amount of smoke emitted by vehicles, motorcycles and autorickshaws using modern cameras. The Lahore Traffic Police issued hundreds of challans for excessive smoke emissions from trucks, buses, cars, wagons, autorickshaws and motorcycles.
A series of photos and videos of smoke-emitting vehicles also began in Lahore. An image of a vehicle emitting smoke is part of the electronic ticket.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Aurangzeb said that both environmental protection and enforcement of traffic rules are being ensured with the help of modern technology and cameras.
