Scientists Develop Elastic Robotic Model Inspired by Starfish

Bremen: Scientists have successfully developed a shape-shifting material inspired by starfish that is both elastic and robust.

According to reports, a team of biological structure researchers from the University of Bremen, led by Raman and his colleagues, created a model that exhibits 4D characteristics and can be used for robotics, aerospace applications and medical devices.

Starfish have a remarkable ability to easily adapt to any type of physical structure. This ability lies in their complex connective tissue, which forms a sophisticated network of diverse tissues.

Raman said their goal was to unlock the secrets of their complex connective tissue and apply these principles in models with significant properties.
