Karachi: Noted Pakistani playwright, director and poet Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar has refused to work with actress Saba Qamar, apart from Mehwish Hayat.
In a recent podcast, host Khalil-ur-Rehman asked Qamar which actress he would not play in his drama.
In response to this question, Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar Saba said that he will not cast Qamar in any project because the immodest clothes he wears are against his standards.
Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar Saba said that there is no doubt that Qamar is a talented actress and she has given a good performance in one of her acclaimed dramas in the past. However, he said, the style of dress is against our culture and principles.
Saba also said that while he respects Kamar’s personal preferences, he has the right to choose who he wants to work with for his projects. Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar said that he wanted to work with actors like Humayun Saeed and Adnan Siddiqui many times.
Notably, Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar had earlier faced criticism for using inappropriate language against Marvi Sarmad in a broadcast related to Aurat Mart, which led to strong objections from showbiz personalities like Mehwish Hayat.
After criticizing Mehwish Hayat, Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar said that Allah will not give me time to apologize to Mehwish Hayat. If I meet him wherever he greets me, I will reciprocate, but I will not condone or put him through any drama.
