London: English professional golfer and billionaire Francis McGurk set fire to his expensive house to prevent his wife from being taken away (by law).
According to media reports, Francis McGurk is facing a trial for this act and was sentenced to only 2 years in prison. Francis, 50, is accused of burning his $1.4 million home.
Francis, a father of three, entered the house when no one else was. He locked himself inside and then contacted his wife, saying he was going to start a fire.
As soon as the fire broke out, the neighbor called 911 and alerted the fire department, resulting in minor damage to the house.
When one of the firefighters arrived at the burning house, acting frantic, he reported that they found Francis McGurk outside. Francis refused to treat the wound.
Firefighters said Francis set his house on fire because he didn’t want everything he made and get it for his wife.
