A high-speed train lost control and collided with the footpath in Karachi, killing 7 people. Rescue officials reported that the accident took place near Gate 6 of Mama Gudam in New Adda in Malir area, Karachi. The ferry was carrying passengers on a picnic but tragically overturned after the driver lost control.
Among the dead are Ahmed Kinza’s 10-year-old daughter, Abdul Jabbar’s 14-year-old son Kadir, Hayat’s 4-year-old daughter Zainat, Sakina’s 6-year-old daughter, 3 women and 4 children. Manzoor Alam, Ghulam Ali’s 40-year-old wife Sagheera and Ahmed’s 45-year-old wife Sadia.
Rescue operations are underway to provide medical assistance to the injured. A 40-year-old woman is currently in intensive care. Meanwhile, the body has been shifted to the mortuary for necessary procedures.
