Peshawar: Indian National Party (ANP) opposes Operation Azm-e-Istahkam.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim visited ANP’s Bacha Khan Center in Kundi, Peshawar. The governor held a meeting with senior ANP leaders and discussed security and political issues.
ANP leader Mian Iftikhar later told mediapersons that terrorists have roots in Punjab and strongly opposed the decision of Operation Azm-e-Istahkam. The ANP conveyed its concerns to the Governor stating that the operation was not acceptable under any circumstances.
He said that the decision regarding Operation Azm-e-Istahkam was one-sided and people did not believe in the talks or the operation. He asked whose orders General Faiz negotiated and how 40,000 terrorists infiltrated. He said, the National Assembly and the Provincial Assembly must believe in the operation, and the operation in the Upper Dir and Lower Dir should also be discussed. ANP has called for an All Parties Conference (APC) related to Operation Azm-e-Pakistan.
