WhatsApp has announced an increase in video status length for select beta users.
The Meta-owned messaging app now allows one-minute video statuses, up from the previous 30-minute limit, as reported by WABetaInfo.
The update brings WhatsApp in line with rivals like Instagram and Messenger, which already offer the ability to post statuses or 60-second video stories.
Users can now record videos directly in the app or upload existing videos from their phone’s storage, without having to split longer videos into multiple segments.
Extended video length offers several advantages. First, it allows users to share more comprehensive and naturally flowing stories, improving the storytelling experience.

Second, it provides a consistent user experience across different social media platforms, making it easier for users to switch between apps that don’t adapt to different video length restrictions.
The new feature is part of WhatsApp’s efforts to improve user interaction and satisfaction. By addressing limitations of previous 30-second cap, WhatsApp aims to provide more seamless and enjoyable platform for its users.
Since this feature is currently only available for beta application users, it is expected to roll out to a wider user base in the future and significantly improve the functionality of our application.
