In a major milestone for the Pakistani film industry, the 3D animated feature film Umro Aiyar’s Chronicles will be screened at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.
Produced by Ingenuity Productions, a leading 3D production house in Pakistan, the film will be screened at the Cannes Film Market by Marche Du Film through Cinando, a B2B on-demand service.
Haris Basharat, CEO of Ingenuity Productions, said that the 77th Cannes Film Festival in Paris was an important milestone for Pakistan’s growing film industry.
Described as an adventure concept, the film is inspired by the classic tale Talisman-e-Khosh Ruban. It follows the legendary hero Umar Aiyar in his thrilling journey through magical places and difficult situations.
Along with the imaginative narrative, the film also contains deeper themes that resonate with audiences of all ages.
Apart from Umro Aiyar’s Chronicles, Ingenuity Productions is also developing a 3D animated series called Science Voyagers. The series tells the adventures of a curious boy who travels back in time to meet some of history’s greatest scientists.
Inclusion of ‘The Chronicles of Umro Ayyar’ in Cannes shows growing potential and international recognition of Pakistan’s animation industry.
