Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Saturday praised the firefighters. Expressing her thoughts on International Firefighters Day, CM Maryam said, “Those who do not risk their own lives to save the lives of others are real heroes.”
“Firefighters undergo various tests and trials to perform their duties perfectly,” he said.
CM Maryam said it is important to take precautionary measures to prevent fire incidents.
“We enforce laws to protect tall buildings from fire.”
“Implementation of Punjab Public Safety Act is much needed,” he said.
– CM Maryam Nawaz reaffirms commitment to eradicate polio –
CM Nawaz on Friday reiterated that he will eradicate polio in Punjab.
According to the details, CM Maryam chaired the Polio Oversight Board (POB) meeting. Using this opportunity, the Prime Minister was briefed about the work done to eradicate poliomyelitis in the province.
It was decided to provide immunization to children coming from different regions of Punjab. He said that the World Health Organization and relevant organizations would support the Punjab government in its efforts to eradicate polio in the province.
CM Maryam explained that she is overseeing the vaccination drive: “Punjab has been polio-free since October 2023.
“We are making every effort to provide health facilities to the people.”
The Prime Minister promised to ensure the safety and security of polio workers during vaccination.
“Districts with poor performance are targeted by polio. “It is very difficult to focus only on vaccinating children from different provinces.”
Meanwhile, the WHO representative appreciated the Punjab government’s efforts to eradicate polio in the province.
“A positive response is expected to lead to the eradication of polio in Punjab,” said a WHO representative.
