Ex-Malaysian PM Mahathir Mohamad faces anti-corruption investigation

Mahathir Mohamad Ex-PM of Malaysia is facing corruption investigation.

Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chairman Azam Baqi said the sons of former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad are being questioned in connection with corruption investigations, according to international media.

The head of the anti-corruption commission said the MACC had ordered businessman Mahathir’s sons Mirza and Makhza in January this year to disclose their assets as part of investigations into the Pandora and Panama Papers leaks.

Mahathir’s office did not immediately comment on the news, but the former prime minister has previously described the investigation into his sons as politically motivated.
