The Oil Tanker Owners Association has suspended the supply of oil and diesel to Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltsan and Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) and halted shipments to the country’s airports, monitoring the strike.
The Union announced that it was suspending oil shipments until the demands were agreed. The union representatives said notices were sent to PSO officials and DC Islamabad, but there was no response.
What are the requirements?
The Oil Tanker Association wants the immediate implementation of the demand for a metering system, but only for the amount of petrol and diesel that is filled in the tanker.
The district administration and authorities have canceled the agreement signed on February 20, while tanker owners and consumers are suffering because of petrol-diesel filling.
Union has informed OGRA, Ministry of Petroleum about its demands several times before.
