Former science and technology minister Fawad Chaudhry has been released from Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi after being granted bail.
Hiba Chaudhry, wife of former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader, confirmed his release in a recent tweet.
On April 1, the Islamabad High Court granted bail to Fawad Chaudhry in the Jhelum land dispute and ordered his release.
The decision came after a bail hearing by a division bench comprising Chief Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri.
Chaudhry, who has been nominated in a case registered by the National Accounts Bureau (NAB) related to land in Jhelum, has asked his lawyer Qaiser Imam to represent him in the Islamabad High Court.
Although bail was initially denied, the court later approved bail for Chaudhry and ordered his release from custody.
It should be noted that after being granted bail, Chaudhry applied for re-arrest.
