ISLAMABAD, March 31: Kaspersky has reported that 84% of users store sensitive personal data digitally, as reliance on electronic storage continues to rise, marking World Backup Day with a focus on data protection.

The research highlights a shift toward digital habits among younger users, while older individuals remain more inclined to maintain physical copies of important documents.

However, different storage methods present distinct risks, including data loss, limited accessibility, and exposure to unauthorized access.

Focus on security and automation

Kaspersky experts recommend structured backup strategies, including maintaining multiple copies of data and storing them across different platforms.

They also stress the importance of stronger authentication methods, such as two-factor verification and passkeys, to protect digital accounts.

Automating backup processes and regularly testing recovery systems can help ensure that critical data remains accessible in case of loss or system failure.
