MANSEHRA: The CDO (Female), Agror Tanawal Forest Division, organised a Monsoon Plantation Awareness Event at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Muradpur in Gidarpur Forest Range to promote environmental awareness and encourage students to participate in tree plantation activities.
The event focused on educating students about the ecological importance of forests, the benefits of planting trees and the role communities can play in protecting natural resources.
50 Saplings Planted and Distributed
The school principal attended the event as chief guest. During the awareness session, students were briefed on the importance of forests and encouraged to take an active role in conservation efforts.
As part of the campaign, 50 saplings were planted and distributed among students. One Bottle Brush sapling was planted on the school premises, while the remaining 49 saplings were handed over to students for plantation and care.
The saplings included 5 Chir, 10 Amaltas, 19 Bottle Brush, 10 Moringa and 5 Kachnar.
Students Encouraged to Support Plantation Campaign
The initiative aimed to promote environmental stewardship among students, strengthen community participation in conservation and encourage young people to become active participants in the Monsoon Plantation Campaign 2026.
Students were encouraged to plant and protect trees at their homes, schools and within their communities to help increase green cover and contribute to a healthier and more sustainable environment across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Forest Department stressed the importance of involving educational institutions and young people in plantation activities to build lasting environmental awareness and strengthen climate and ecological resilience.
