ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Police (ICP) arrested 22 outlaws including six professional beggars from different areas of the city in last 24 hours and recovered drugs and weapons from their possession. According to ICP spokesperson, on the special instructions of Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, the capital city Islamabad police has intensified its crackdown on criminal elements to eradicate crime from the city.
Acting on these instructions, a police team of Karachi Corporation arrested the accused namely Munir Ahmed and recovered 480 grams of hashish from his possession. Golra police team arrested the accused namely Manan Jameel involved in illegal gas filling. Sangjani police team arrested the accused namely Irshad Ahmed who was involved in illegal gas filling. The police team in the industrial area also arrested the accused, namely Altaf Hussain and recovered one 30-round pistol from his possession. Shams Colony police team arrested two accused namely Dost Muhammad and Nadeem Khan and recovered one iron punch and 1110 grams hashish from their possession.

Similarly, the Khanna police team arrested the accused namely Azhar and recovered one iron punch from his possession while the police team also arrested two accused namely Nasrullah and Muhammad Sher who were involved in illegal filling of gas and sale of petrol. Additionally, the Humak police team arrested two accused namely Abid Ali and Nasir Ali and recovered one 30-shot pistol and 307 grams of heroin from their possession. Nilore police team arrested two accused namely Ghulam Hussain and recovered one 12-shot gun from his possession.
Besides, the Bani Gala police team arrested the accused namely Muhammad Sarfraz and Shakeel and recovered 380 grams of heroin and 25 liters of liquor from their possession while the police team arrested two accused namely Tasawar Hussain and Shahid Rehman who were involved in illegal sale of petrol and gas . replenishment. Individual cases have been filed against the nabbed accused and further investigation is underway. In an ongoing crackdown on professional beggars, police in the capital Islamabad arrested six professional beggars. ICCPO Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan ordered the police officials to further intensify the crackdown on the criminal elements. “Safety and security of citizens is our top priority and no laxity in this regard will be tolerated,” he said.
