LAHORE: The closing ceremony of the 120th National Management Course (NMC) and 35th Senior Management Course (SMC) was organized by the National School of Public Policy (NSPP) here on Friday to distribute certificates among the participants.
Rector Dr. Speaking at the ceremony, Ejaz Munir said that NSPP is a reliable civil servant training institution in Pakistan, which has been tasked to enhance the capacity of civil servants for policy making and implementation at various levels.
He said NSPP plays an important role in training civil servants and preparing them for the challenges of good governance and public service delivery. It has played an important role in public policy research in the country by supporting its own research and think tanks.
Former Federal Secretary Tasneem Noorani, who was the chief guest at the ceremony, congratulated the successful participants and said that the government officials are aware of the challenges facing the country. “It is important to be in line with the best international policies to compete and I hope this course will guide you in that regard,” he added.
The National School of Public Policy is a premier public policy institution in Pakistan that provides training to federal and provincial government employees and officials. The NSPP has an independent Board of Governors headed by the President of Pakistan. The NSPP provides training to provincial and federal officers in scale 18, 19 and 20 at three levels: tactical, operational and strategic.
The National Management College offers an 18-week National Management Course (NMC) for Grade 20 officers, a prerequisite for progression to Grade 21, held twice a year.
49 participants took part in the 120th national management course. Similarly, 46 participants attended the 35th National Institute of Management course; both courses were closed on Friday in Lahore.
